Download the Kroger app or log into your Kroger account online to get customized sale items and coupons.  I love their Friday Freebie program - one free featured product every week.  Set a reminder on your phone to download the coupon every Friday, then you have 2-3 weeks to get the product (discount taken at the register).

Tom Thumb

Tom Thumb's "Just for U" program scores you some major savings.  Just log in to the app or online with your savings card.  Every week there are tons of items, including household staples such as eggs, cheese, sodas, etc. often for under $1.  Be careful, however, to select your preferred store as deals change from store to store.

Sprouts often has the best deals on produce; often-featured items include various berries, apples, zucchini, and peppers.  I love "Double Ad Wednesdays" which offer overlapping sale prices for two weeks of weekly ads.  Sprouts has an app for your phone where you can load additional coupons and offers.  Their weekly newsletter also features a promo code for even more savings that can be added to your app.

Combine Weekly Ads with Coupons

Part of my weekly ritual is going through the grocery ads and coupons that come in the paper.  It doesn't take long to find items that are your "household staples" and to notice what is a good sale price.  Use a coupon holder (find what works best for you - I created my own with a filing envelope) to combine coupons with weekly sale items for added savings!

If time is not on your side

I get it - lots of you have busy lives.  If you don't have time to shop the weekly ads or clip coupons, I advise downloading the Walmart app and signing up for their "Savings Catcher" program.  Shop at Walmart, log into the app, and scan the QR code at the bottom of your receipt.  It's that simple!  Walmart does the work for you - competitor ads are searched and if a lower price is found, you get the money added to your Savings Catcher account which can be used later at a Walmart store.
